IBPS CWE PO/MT-II How to fill bank preference to get selection???

* The major problem while filling the preferences candidates will face is that IBPS have not announced ranks of the selected candidates. And it is very difficult to give preference without having an idea about our ranks. But yes the score range can definitely be used to opt for the right bank.
* After thorough analysis our experts have prepared a chart displaying score range, various tiers of banks and vacancies in respective tiers. Candidates falling in given score range may give preference to following banks.

Tier

Score Range

Banks

General

Total

I

70-80

ECBC, PNB, IDBI, BOB

II

III

4937

9936

Total vacancy

11058

22415

* Before filling your preference, analyze your rank accordingly analyze vacancies in your score range than give your preference.
* General candidates have to be extra careful in filling the bank as though the vacancies are 22415 (for general 11058) but the reality differs for general.
* For example, if a reserved candidate opts BOB,

Overall rank 2500

Category rank 2000

Suppose in BOB there is 1 vacancy for general and 10 vacancies for reserved. then candidate will be considered for general seat.

Therefore general vacancy will get filled by reserved candidate while reserved seats will remain intact. So don’t think that 11058 seats are entirely for general candidates.

* Lower rank candidates must be realistic and should go for tier 3 banks first while giving their preferences and for banks which have higher vacancies.
* Do not worry about the salary and perks as most PSU banks offer more or less the same salary structure, important thing for a candidate is that he must get a job in region of his preference.
* Banks are usually concentrated in a particular region and so candidates should give higher preference to banks concentrated in their region.
* There are several sites which claim to provide exact rank but they are not reliable. According to our IBPS experts there is no method to calculate ranks without having complete data (which is withheld with IBPS), only exact range of ranks can be predicted and not exact rank.

10000+

* So now we know approximate number of candidates in a particular score range. Also, we know number of vacancies in each tier of banks, and accordingly we can assume how the banks get filled and what are our chances in a particular bank.
* Friends, remember our data is computed after thorough analysis by IBPS experts. It might have slight deviation from actual results.
* Suggestions are invited.

SBI PO 2013 Preparation Strategy

Final merit

* Phase 1 total marks are converted to out of 75.
* Phase 2 total marks are converted to out of 25.
* Final merit list equals 75+25=100 marks.

I will discuss how to prepare for this exam without any coaching. Lets start with reasoning as this is the section where most aspirants have problem.

Reasoning

* Main problem which aspirants feel with reasoning section in banking exam is that some of its questions (such as seating arrangement, data sufficiency, math operations etc) are too much time consuming.
* This is because while preparation when you come across any reasoning ques. you think they are too easy and you will easily do it in exam. I agree, you all can do it but the point is who can solve it in given time i.e Approx 95 secs.
* Just remember there is no shortcut, to master Reasoning you have to do a lot of practice which you usually skips.
* For high level Reasoning you may refer RS Aggarwal , MK Pandey’s Analytical reasoning, Any Cat coaching material(Time etc), but the key is to practice every type of questions again and again.
* Topics such as sitting arrangement, Math Operations , Data sufficiency blood relation, eligibility test, coding-decoding, direction based test, alphabets arrangement etc. requires extra attention and lots of practice.

GA/Marketing/Computer

* In banking exams General awareness section comprises of questions related to banking, finance ets sector so pay extra attention to it as it is very scoring and can affect your ranking.
* Refer Ncert 10 Economics or Indian economy by Ramesh singh and go through chapters related to Banking, Finance, Insurance, External sector, Marketing etc.
* Go through recent news related to india’s economy and Banking sector.
* For static portion of GK you may refer Arihant or Lucent’s GK book.
* For computer refer any book covering basics of computers and its applications(MS-Excel etc).

English Language (Grammar, Vocabulary, Comprehension)

* For Grammar refer Wren n Martin to built your basics than you can refer any other English book for practice( like Objective General English by SP Bakshi)
* For Vocabulary refer Norman Lewis Word Power made easy, very good book to build up your English vocab.
* Try to learn 10 words daily and try to make at least 5 sentences on each word, this will not only build your vocab but also improve your communication skills.
* For comprehension practice previous year passages from any English book.
* For Précis, Essay, Letter writing refer Ncert 10th English or Wren n martin.

Data Analysis and Interpretation

* Don’t take DI/DA questions too lightly, practice them as much as you could.
* You may refer reasoning books for Data interpretations and analysis.
* Practice aptitude from Fast Track Objective Arithmetic by Rajesh Verma, RS aggarwal etc.
* Aspirants who feel they are week in math must practice it daily, remember you can not master it just by doing it night before exam.
* Aptitude is exercise of brain it develops your brain and increases its efficiency, as weight training in gym develops your muscle.

How to clear Cut off and get good rank???

* There is no shortcut to clear this exam so never rely on readymade SBI PO books like kiran’s prakashan etc, always prepare from reference books.
* Maintain a dairy and note down all topics and questions which require extra attention.
* Don’t get distracted by High Level reasoning mentioned in the notification just remember it is difficult only for those who have done no practice.
* We don’t have to do all the questions, try to solve 15 questions correctly from each section first to clear the cut off.
* Than attempt that section first over which you have good command and most important try to attempt reasoning section from the last questions as they are direct and less time consuming.
* Don’t waste too much time on GA, English section if you don’t know the answer move to next one.
* Most of you try to attempt as many question based on your cut offs assumptions, thus getting your marks reduced due to negative marking. Don’t think about cut offs just remember if paper is hard it is hard for everyone.
* As there is sectional cut off we cant ignore any section, you must have good command over each section.
* Friends follow this approach and i assure you will clear SBI PO exam easily.
* Lastly, be honest with yourself while preparation.
